EVENT TWO: Silent Meeting

Lincoln School Silent Meeting For my second event, I attended an event at my internship site, The Lincoln School in Providence, RI. Every week, each age group in the school attends a "silent meeting". Since I work in the lower school for my internship, I attended their silent meeting on a Friday afternoon. The lower school consists of ages nursery through grade 5. I found a good description of the purpose of silent meeting on the lincoln school website. It states "Each week, students in all divisions of Lincoln, from early childhood through Upper School, attend a silent meeting, where we build community together in silence. The structure of these meetings varies by age group, to ensure that students can experience and understand the practice in age-appropriate ways. For students and faculty alike, the silent meeting is a priceless opportunity to slow down, unplug, and be present in the midst of their fast-paced days."
